Dark bold fruits, not for the faint of heart. A magnificient blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Petite Sirah.
A beast of a blend. Brenda conjured up a variety of winemaking tools to create and tame this beast--varietal blending to perfection, fermentation in open top tanks, hand punch downs and oak aging in 100% French Oak (30% new) barrels for 18 months. It's hard to stare down the belly of this beast, but we think there'll be no question about our winemaker's prowess upon your first taste.
This is a bold wine that exhibits aromas of blackberry, tobacco, leather and cocoa with just the slightest touch of mint. On the palate the wine displays ripe blackberries, toasty oak, tobacco, and cocoa flavors that are highlighted by floral notes. The aptly named 2012 HellHound is a full-bodied wine that lingers on the palate, has beautiful silky tannins and finishes with a touch of vanilla. Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?
