Harvest, Events and Sleeping Dogs!

Harvest is Only Days Away
Everyone has been asking about our harvest; believe it or not, it hasn't yet started.  Normally Brenda is into full harvest mode, but mother nature is a bit late this year.  Brenda thinks her first grapes will be coming in this Friday or early next week, so wish us luck!  We did however "practice" a bit last night - we ordered take out Chinese with Chow Mein noodles, a Brenda harvest staple.  Even if the grapes aren't quite ready, Brenda "felt the need" to condition her stomach!  And yes, the noodles paired exceptionally well with our 2008 Unleashed Chardonnay!

Fall Events, Events & More Events... Starting This Weekend!

Why is it that our busiest event season is at harvest time?  Who is in charge of scheduling anyways?  Ah yes, I just remembered - Fall is a beautiful time for events, whether in the wine country or around the country!  Mutt Lynch has just updated our Events Calendar and our events start this coming weekend so take a look!  It's quite a collection of fun events, many in support of great animal causes.  Please do join us, or tell a friend!

A 256 Year Old Man?
We leave you with a story.  According to a 1933 obituary, a Chinese man was reported to have outlived 23 wives and fostered 180 descendents by the time he died at the age of 256.  At age 250, he descibed his secret of long life as "Keep a quiet heart, sit like a tortoise, walk sprightly like a pigeon and sleep like a dog." 

Whether fact or myth, Patch and I are ready for a nap!
