2014 "mbf" Chardonnay —sophisticated and delicious, elegant and balanced. A little more fruit-forward than previous vintages and with declious flavors of lemon and green apple, Brenda has once again let the fruit shine through. In our third vintage of mbf Chardonnay, Brenda used 50% stainless steel and 50% new French oak barrel fermentation.
The Foundation. My Reserve "mbf" (man’s best friend) wines are always based on a strong relationship. The Greyhound breed has a special place in my heart. They are gentle and reserved yet explosively fast - a wonderful contrast of traits that makes them unique. I have come to view and produce my Reserve Chardonnay in a similar way - a special white wine that blends subtle, reserved aromas with rich, intense and explosive flavors. - Brenda Lynch
Brenda's Winemaking. Brenda used 50% stainless steel and 50% new French oak barrel fermentation with 100% of the wine going through malolactic fermentation. The two-step process of malolactic fermentation to soften the wine’s natural acidity and sur lie aging - lees were stirred in barrel and tank every 10-14 days, produce a wine with a fuller mouthfeel, cream finish and great overall structure.
Our 2014 mbf Chardonnay delivers elegance and balance. Some might call it refined. Having the color of golden straw, the 2014 vintage opens to lovely citrus notes. On the palate, there are fruit-forward flavors of lemon and green apple. It’s crispness and structure come from medium acidity. Brenda’s winemaking skills have rendered a medium-bodied wine with a lush mouthfeel and a lovely medium-length finish.

Food Pairing Notes
Our Reserve "mbf" Chardonnay is best paired with seafood that has textural depth and richness. Our favorite pairing is with crab cakes with our local Northern California Dungeness crab when in season. Our standby favorite is fresh-caught salmon, grilled to medium rare.
